How to blur part of an image
Sharing a screenshot with an email address visible, or a photo with a stranger's face? Blur just that region — locally, so the unblurred original never leaves your device.
Steps
- Open the blur tool and drop in your image.
- Drag to select the region — face, name, plate, account number.
- Set blur strength high enough that text is unreadable at full zoom, then download.
Blur vs pixelate for hiding text
For sensitive text, prefer strong pixelation or a solid bar over light Gaussian blur — weakly blurred text can sometimes be reconstructed. Our pixelate tool is the safer pick for account numbers and IDs; blur is fine for faces and backgrounds.
Privacy matters doubly here: because processing is client-side, the original unredacted image is never uploaded anywhere — unlike most online blur services.

Lightly blurred text can sometimes be recovered. Use strong pixelation or maximum blur for sensitive data — or better, a solid bar.
